Magic Mushroom Cacao Energy Balls

I would LOVE to tell you that these are edibles with psychedelic mushrooms in them 🤣🤪🌀- but they're not, but they DO have medicinal properties and MANY health benefits!


"MAGIC MUSHROOM" is the Yoursuperfoods cacao & medicinal mushroom "hot chocolate" blend that I used to make these delicious energy balls


If you haven't heard of medicinal mushrooms I'm excited to tell you about their properties below! I totally get why they named their blend 'magic' - due to all the natural benefits! 💫


The blend contains:


🍫 RAW CACAO

[a superfood that has 4x more antioxidants than regular dark chocolate, boosts mood, reduces cravings & inflammation and has potassium & magnesium]


💥 ASHWAGANDHA

[an adaptogenic herb reducing stress, anxiety, balancing hormones, adrenals & cortisol levels and can improve sleep quality 💤(without making you drowsy!)]


🍈 LUCUMA

[a fruit from Perú 🇵🇪 that's sweet & maple-like and is a naturally low GI sweetener with antioxidants, calcium, beta-carotene, zinc, iron, vitamin C & fibre]

This is my first experience tasting medicinal mushrooms & you can't taste the mushrooms at all in the blend, yet it's packed with so much goodness! 🌞🌟🔥


This recipe is refined sugar free, has lots of protein from the cashew nuts and there are 4 topping variations for you to choose from 🥰


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups cashew nuts

  • 2 cups dates

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp magic mushroom

METHOD:


Add the cashew nuts first and pulse for a few seconds until they're slightly broken up. Add the rest of the ingredients to the high speed blender until a combined to a doughey consistency



Roll into balls and (optional) fill with cashew butter and top with either:

- cacao nibs

- cacao powder

- magic mushroom powder


I made several of each as I wanted a variation of toppings, but you can pick and choose!
